"Lake Norman Foodie" review 8/24/09: The Hawg Wings were quite good. They were moist, tender, and topped with a thick western-style BBQ sauce - my favorite! These "Wings" were especially good after my last rib experience at Outback!! There was simply no comparison, and Horsefeathers was the winner. Featured as one of the Top 8 BBQ restaurants in the Queen City region by "Charlotte Magazine" 10/1/08: With "Horsefeathers" in huge letters across the front roof, this Lake Norman spot is easy to find. It offers much more than barbecue, but HF's wood-smoked pork, beef, and chicken served on kaiser rolls with sauce and slaw, and its hearty rib plates are what draw the crowds. "Yahoo! Travel" review 12/27/07: The food at Horsefeathers Roadhouse is phenomenal. I consider myself a barbecue connoisseur and when the general manager, JD, came by to check on our meal we started talking about his methods. Mostly he was (understandably) close-mouthed, but he did tell me that they smoke everything on site and that he uses a special blend of charcoal and smoking chips to strike the perfect balance between flavor and even heat. All I can say is, it works. |
